THE ANNUAL TREK TO AMY'S TREE

Team Amy's Annual Walk to Raise Awareness (and funds!) for Brain Tumor Research and Patient Support. It started in 2008 with Have a Chance Walk to Fight Brain Tumors in NYC, and today we carry on the tradition in our own back yard. Friends and family gather at Ward Pound Ridge Reserve a brisk walk that has become a happy tradition.

Amy was there the first year. She bought new sneakers for the occasion, wore a yellow survivor's T-shirt, and spent the entire morning smiling and hugging friends. While she never did well receiving accolades or attention, she was overwhelmed and deeply touched by the outpouring of support to this worthy cause that was made in her name.

No one is "at risk" for a brain tumor, which is why it can happen to anyone, at any time. Even the most cutting edge medicine helps fewer than 5% of people diagnosed with the most aggressive types of brain tumors. The Walk honors Amy's memory, raises awareness for brain tumors, and gives hope to the thousands of people who are diagnosed with this disease every day.

ANNUAL BBQ FUNDRAISER

Each August the foundation holds its Backyard Barbeque at Crabtree's Kittle House to celebrate Amy's life and vision. Family and friends, both new and old, share great food, lively conversation and a fun silent auction.

The focus of the evening are four charities, one from each of the Foundation's core causes, which are honored for making a difference through their diligent and compassionate work. Each of the charities receives a portion of the donations collected that evening. Please join us for the festivities.

AMY'S ARK

Amy's Ark is an initiative by the Foundation, to raise awareness and support for our local animal shelters. At various locations in Westchester and Putnam Counties, donations and supplies are collected throughout the month of April for local animal groups including: The Putnam Humane Society, Westchester SPCA, A New Chance Animal Rescue.

SPARKLE FOR A CAUSE

Sponsored by Team Amy, Tuesday evenings at Crabtree's Kittle House have been earmarked for the 'Sparkle for a Cause' events that have received such great reviews and such positive publicity. Each week throughout the summer, and due to its popularity, now the fall, we hold a "Ladies' Night Out" (although men are welcome to join the fun too) on Tuesday nights in Amy's Garden, and a different non-profit organization is spotlighted each week. Partnered with Crabtree's Kittle House, these groups receive 30% of the evening proceeds.
